Guest: Currie Person

September 26, 2011

I thought it would be interesting to begin a series of guest blog swapping. A friend would post their work here and I’d post some work on their site. I’m very proud to have Currie Person as my first guest.

Currie has been my go-to design eye throughout my last couple years while living in Austin. Her shop, Spartan, is always delicately and meticulously curated with beautiful and unique items. After a recent move to Portland, Oregon, Currie is on the brink of opening her second Spartan location in San Francisco, which is a collaboration with Voyager (alongside such names as Mollusk, Revolver, and the Michael Rosenthal Gallery). Currie also co-curates the shop at the beautiful Hotel St. Ceclia in Austin with Lauren Wilkins (Bows+Arrows). Keep your eyes peeled to her Spartan Journal for updates and of course, online shopping at Spartan’s website (due for a fresh redesign in October) is available if you don’t live in Texas or California.

Currie’s Favorites in Portland, OR:
Shop: Frances MaySword and Fern
Coffee: Ristretto RoastersExtracto
Eat: NavarreTasty N Son

I hope she opens a shop here in Portland once she gets settled. Beautiful light in these shots. Enjoyed your shots over there as well. Interesting idea you have here.
