Music

July 19, 2010

If you know me, I always love tabulating lists. Music is a very important part of my life, and thusly, I constantly listen to it, search for it and perhaps analyze it (sometimes) too much. Below I’ve concocted a top ten list of my favorite records of my lifetime. This can possibly fluctuate on any given day, but these titles remain somewhere near the top. I’ve also included a short playlist below with a key track from each. Enjoy!

1. Tortoise – “Tortoise” (Thrill Jockey, 1994)

2. Dirty Three – “Ocean Songs” (Touch and Go, 1998)

3. Goldmund – “The Malady of Elegance” (Type, 2008)

4. Sun Kil Moon – “Ghosts of the Great Highway” (Jetset, 2003)

5. Helios – “Eingya” (Type, 2006)

6. Pullman – “Turnstyles and Junkpiles” (Thrill Jockey, 1998)

7. The Six Parts Seven – “Things Shaped In Passing” (Suicide Squeeze, 2002)

8. Grouper – “Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill” (Type, 2008)
