Artist of the week:
Elín Hansdóttir // Elín is possibly best known for her work as an actress in such films as the highly acclaimed Nói Albínói. But this Berlin-residing Icelander has culled and amassed a staggeringly impressive bevy of audio and visual art installations around the world.
View more of her work and cv here.
Musician of the week:
Akira Rabelais // “Spellewauerynsherde” from Wire Magazine: “When Texas born Akira Rabelais found a handful of discarded Ampex tapes containing Icelandic a cappella laments – recorded some time between 1960 and 1980 – he decided to bring them back to life using his ‘magic realist’ code language.
